I wrote this poem 10 years ago. I re-discovered it today and thought I'd share it. It is a silly poem, but I am proud of it none-the-less.
Exchange in the Wood
by George Edema
Winter 1997
Man:
Lo! What providence is this
That I should hap upon thee
Among this wood, fair maiden?
It remains to be seen
Whether for you of for me,
For I am blessed by your beauty
And your wagon looks heavy laden.
Woman:
Kind sir,
It is I that am blessed,
And thankful is me,
For no further can I this burden bear.
Man:
No, the grace is to me.
For your beauty gives strength.
I am beholden to you,
O one who is so fair.
