A game in which players toss a jackknife in various prescribed ways, with the object being to make the blade stick firmly into the ground. [From the phrase mumble the peg, from the fact that originally the loser had to pull up with the teeth a peg driven into the ground.]

I hate pringles, but I like bologna.
is that because they are flat and stacked or is the some mystical reason I am missing?
I would say Ruffles are the bologna of the chip world. They are the staple of the youth and not really a 'special treat'.
Pringles are processed potato product formed into uniform shapes meant to resemble sliced chips - just like bologna is processed meat product formed into uniform shapes meant to resemble sliced deli meat.
But I was more interested in the repeat invention phenomenon than the particular invention itself.
so where do maraschino cherries fall into your equation?
Is tofu the pringle of the soy bean world?
They don't.
I have no knowledge of tofu.
then you have no knowledge...
