Did the Church meet the needs of Origen and Polycarp or Cranmer and Latimer?

A game in which players toss a jackknife in various prescribed ways, with the object being to make the blade stick firmly into the ground. [From the phrase mumble the peg, from the fact that originally the loser had to pull up with the teeth a peg driven into the ground.]

Why hasn't Auburn's spiritual needs been met yet? Two words: Reverend Bo
What about an environment for "Robots with a human brain"?
Isn't "Poycarp" a type of ornamental fish?
what makes you feel this way? why did this make you wanna throw up
We've got Athens Church here - and the lead pastor is someone I'd consider a friend. And I'm glad for that because it keeps me from getting too uppity about a different way to do church than what we're doing.
I'm thankful that Northpoint churches are trying to create relevant environments for the nonbeliever. So are we - the main difference is that we feel pretty confident that the gospel can both evangelize the non-Christian and edify the Christian. Two birds. One Jesus-shaped rock.
The other thing that I've talked about with the Athens Church guys is the fact that their model is almost exclusively attractional, as opposed to pursuing ways to move missionally into the community - seeking the good of the city, etc. Almost all of the energy gets expended on maintaining the big machine...
That said, these guys are good brothers who love Jesus.
You mean there is more to it than just the "Big Machine"? Perhaps outreach is buying a T-shirt at the gift shop.
Jed, glad to hear you were in Franklin(again) and didn't call us(again)! J/K, but I know Bobby would love to get together with you next time. Hope your trip was good...my mom is a member of Parish now.

Ah, Elizabeth. I will try to call soon. Sorry to be such a remedial friend (to you--I'm ok with it to Bobby).
Was your mother at Parish on Sun? I'm sorry I didn't get to meet her. How is her health?
I'm sorry "the Auburn Church" wasn't there when you and Bobby went. I can see Jack in Waumbaland.
