Papal Bomb

Here’s what the Pope said last November 11: “Luther's expression ‘sola fide’ is true if faith is not opposed to charity, to love. Faith is to look at Christ, to entrust oneself to Christ, to be united to Christ, to be conformed to Christ . . . That is why,” the Pope said, “in the Letter to the Galatians, St. Paul develops above all his doctrine on justification; he speaks of faith that operates through charity.”

Wow. The Pope admitting Luther was right? Could there be a glimmer of hope of reconciliation between Catholics and Protestants?

He also recently un-excommunicated four traditionalist bishops who had raised a ruckus over Vatican II's "radical" changes during JPII's pontificate. It seems like he is doing everything he can to push for Christian unity. Very promising.

When is he going to rollback the council of Trent?

Why would he do that?

Just think of the goodwill produced with Protestants! What a wonderful step toward Christian unity.
