It is nigh unto impossible to celebrate Christmas in our society according to the liturgical calendar. Folks celebrate Christmas during Advent (parties, decorations, singing Christmas songs, special services, etc.), and then are sick and tired of Christmas come about 2PM Christmas day. My father actually acted like he had performed an act of ministry to poor children by getting the tree undecorated and out to the street by 3PM on the 25th.
Should we high church types just give up and celebrate the holiday like everyone else? When people told me "happy New Year!" I said, "Yes, and happy 8th Day of Christmas". I felt pretty silly.
Maybe I should just chill out and take what I can get.
Happy Second Day of Epiphany everyone.

Hey Jed, I was just saying the same thing the other day. The capitalist pig dogs control our festival and feast days. Christmas sales, programs, specials, and music dominate our culture starting the day after Thanksgiving. We are presenting with with a loose and often non-sensical idea of what what the holidays are about, substituting an impostor posing as Christmas for the substance of Advent. Then, after Christmas sales and college bowl games effectively signal the end of Christmas even though it has just begun.
Stay strong, fight against the tide.
You should feel silly. You just show off your pretentiousness by saying such things to the lazy, slothful "low church" types.
any 'high church' thing that makes me eat vegan cheese is not something I want any part of.
Better to eat no cheese than eat vegan cheese--even my dog wouldn't eat vegan cheese.
